About Me

Currently offering Zoom/Phone/Email and Walking sessions.

Hi, thank you for viewing my profile and I look forward to helping you. I have over 28 years experience of working in the NHS, Social Care, Charity and private Services. My goal is to help and support you if you’re experiencing stress, distress, emotional pain or trauma or other issues in relationships, career, retirement, health etc. Having experienced numerous changes in my own life, I can relate to the experiences of others. I offer an approach that is tried and tested. My  style, is open, warm, relaxed and non-judgemental.  My goal is to help facilitate change and support you. Please do not hesitate to contact me for support.

I Specialise in-Individual, Couple and Family work. I offer Skype/Phone/Email and face to face work. Child and Adolescent mental health assessments and treatments, e.g Emotional and Behavioural issues, etc. Parent coaching, Couple therapy, Family therapy, Relationship issues, Self confidence, Anxiety, Depression, Life Coaching, Transitional coaching, Health and wellness, Individual and Group Supervision. Training/Workshops.
My style of therapy, considers you as a whole person. I  try to understand your physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual self, as well as your environment and the relationships around you. I aim to  gain clarity on what might be causing your issues and to find solutions with you to address these. I don't just focus on you and the problem, but I am also looking at how your experiences might be affecting relationships around you, or vice-versa. I am unique in my approach as I blend my therapy, coaching, creative and intuitive skills. Therefore I draw on multiple techniques and skills to connect with and help clients.
Session length and duration-Individual sessions last 50 minutes and Couple and family sessions are usually 55 to 90 minutes. The first session, is usually in the form of a consultation. I ask questions to get an idea of the problem, for example when did it start, how is it affecting you and others around you? What have you tried, what's worked? What's not worked? Why therapy and why now? You also get to ask me about my role, style of working etc. Once you and I agree that we can work together, we then set a goal for therapy and dates for sessions.I try to work with the recommendations set out by the Nice Guidelines,. Therefore, for individual sessions, I usually recommend six (6) weekly sessions to start with, for mild to slightly moderate problems. For moderate to severe issues such as anxiety and depression or trauma, treatment can last  longer with up to 16-20 sessions. For couple and Family therapy, an average of 12 to 16 sessions, fortnightly, depending on the severity of the issues brought to therapy. It is important to note, that these are just estimates and may vary depending the client, issue  and motivation for change. Therefore occasionally, therapy maybe be shorter or longer that the estimated recommendations.
Format of sessions-As sessions progressed, I will be exploring the issues, possible causes, challenging your belief system, helping you to create alternative ways of coping and at times recommending techniques for you to practise. I use a variety of techniques such as asking questions, visualisation techniques, art therapy, mindfulness meditation etc, depending on the client's needs. Sessions are reviewed regularly and I have ongoing conversations with clients about their experience. A planned ending is usually discussed between me and the client. Occasionally, if I am not able to support you fully, I may make recommendations to other professionals with your onset. I do hope that I have been able to answer some of your questions, but please get in touch if you need further classifications, in order to make the decision about starting therapy.
Cancellation notice- I require 24 hours cancellation notice or the session will be charged if no notice is given.
Payment method- I accept cash payments or online payments.
