Gemma Latimer
Gestalt psychotherapistAbout Me
I know how daunting it can be to reach out for support, but the likelihood is that you're here because you're suffering in some way and want some help with that. I offer a warm, non-judgmental, creative and exploratory approach. I believe in the innate wisdom of the body and incorporate this into the way I work with people, to help raise awareness of messages from the body.
I offer brief or long-term face-to-face therapy in Glasgow to adults as well as online therapy. As a professionally qualified psychotherapist, UKCP and BACP member, I have experience with issues such as; anxiety, depression, loss, identity and sexuality, relationship issues, panic attacks, low self-esteem and trauma.
I believe we all have innate potential inside us and sometimes need help finding and awakening that energy. As a collaborative and authentic counsellor, I offer a safe and supportive space to explore and identify self-limiting beliefs, habits and help people live their most satisfying version of themselves.
When people contact me, they can expect to meet for an initial 50-minute consultation, exploring what brings them here and what they hope to get out of our work. There will be time to answer any questions about the way I work or the process of counselling and psychotherapy. After the initial assessment, I encourage you to take some time to decide whether I'm the right counsellor for you. If we decide to work together, we would decide if brief or long-term is the best option for you. People usually find weekly sessions most helpful but other options are also possible.

Initial assessment sessions and consecutive sessions are charged at £70 during the daytime. My evening fee (after 5pm) is £80. Sessions are 50 minutes. I operate a 7 day cancellation policy. Cancellations with 7 day’s notice will not incur a fee, otherwise the full fee is payable. Contact me to arrange an initial assessment.
Training and qualifications
After training for 7 years, I hold a Masters in Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute and am a UKCP and BACP member, abiding by their codes of ethics. Training in Gestalt, means I work person to person, observing the present moment with curiosity. Unlike approaches which focus on the individual working through issues, the Gestalt approach encourages working together through your problems as a shared exploration. With a background in the arts I have a particular interest in working creatively and experientially with clients, bringing experiences to life in the here and now.
