Gail Deady
Cognitive behaviour therapy counsellorAbout Me
Hello, I'm Gail and I offer effective and confidential therapy. I have a strong belief in an individual’s own ability to make the changes they need with the right therapeutic support.
I make use of researched and tested therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a talking therapy that can help you manage your wellbeing by changing the way you think and behave.
CBT is commonly used to treat anxiety and depression but is also effective in the treatment of stress, low self-esteem, a block in personal growth or feeling stuck in life, either personally or professionally.
Having worked in small and large organisations over the last 30 years, I am also familiar with the impact of workplace stress and its effects on mental health through burnout, anxiety and depression.
How an individual thinks and feels has a corresponding emotion which also affects their physiology and behaviours. When thoughts are not observed and managed, this can allow for unwanted emotions to arise which can trigger issues such as stress, anxiety, depression and often avoidance of people and places.
Being able to control your mind from unwanted thoughts allows you to direct what you give your attention to, and how it makes you feel and behave.
Using a combination of techniques, I can help you to identify what triggers unwanted thoughts. These techniques become the tools you can use to alter self-problematic thoughts, overwhelming emotions and unproductive behaviours when they arise.
I will work with you at your own pace and support your transition to overcome unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that are holding you back.
Therapy can be the beginning of your journey to become centred no matter what is going on around you. Take the first step and connect with me. After initial consultation, together we can decide if CBT best suits what you need in your life right now.
