Debbie Kelly
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
Hello and welcome to my profile. I started my counsellor training when I was practicing as a nurse, recognising a need for psychological as well as physical care for my patients. I have now worked exclusively as a counsellor in private practice for 15 years and am an Accredited member of the BACP. I work with clients with a wide variety of issues, including, but not restricted to:
work and life related stress,
depression,
anxiety,
bereavement,
pregnancy loss and loss of a child,
relationship issues,
pre and postnatal anxiety and depression
anger issues.
I work online or via the phone with individuals over the age of 18 years. My client's ages have ranged from 18 to 85 years of age; it's never too late or too early to work through troubling issues and make the positive changes you are looking for.
I work mainly from a person-centred approach, being alongside you in a supportive and non-judgemental way as you explore your issues, I also draw on other modalities from my training if they feel relevant for individual clients. It's my place to listen out for threads and patterns that may offer clarity about particular issues you are facing. This helps you to hear yourself, and offers the opportunity to make positive change and 'do things' differently, challenging and changing patterns, finding new and more comfortable ways of being.
I offer a free 15 minute no obligation initial phone call to discuss your counselling needs and make sure we are a 'good fit' to work together. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is as important as the therapist's modality and it's important to shop around for the right counsellor for you.
I am affiliated with BUPA Health Insurance so your therapy may be covered by your insurance company; please ask at time of booking.
Please feel free to email/telephone me to make an appointment or if you have any questions about the service that I offer.
