Dr David Araci
Cognitive behaviour clinical psychologistAbout Me
My Experience
I have worked in the NHS since 2013 offering psychological support for people across the lifespan, from young children to older adults. Prior to this I worked within a neuro rehabilitation centre, working with adults who had suffered Acquired Brain Injury. I have experience in a variety of settings including hospitals and community teams working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, personality disorder, OCD, self-criticism and chronic pain. I currently work in an NHS community setting with adults who have complex and enduring mental health difficulties. I also offer private therapy as I believe the waiting times in the NHS can be far too long!
My Values
Meeting a new therapist can feel like a daunting prospect, so I value building a supportive and collaborative relationship from the start. I am highly passionate about working together with someone, to make sense of what’s got them stuck and exploring ways to get unstuck. It is important for you to feel comfortable and secure with me as we work together to help make sense of what is going on for you and, importantly, ways to get out of the stuckness. Therapy can be hard, but together we will work towards you reaching your goals. This may be by getting a clearer understanding of what is going on for you, or learning and practicing new skills, or developing insights and building on new perspectives.
The Models I Work With
I work with a range of psychological therapies and we can discuss during our first appointment which may be most helpful for you. I mainly work with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) models. Once we understand your difficulties and your goals we can explore which approach would be the best fit for you. These models can be used in their pure form or integrated in a way that suits your needs.
Clinic Information
I currently hold a clinic remotely and online appointments usually from 5pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I work with people from 18 years upwards.

Psychological therapy session via video (1 hour): £90

The assessment session allows us to meet with each other online, to get an understanding of your difficulties and the goals you would like to work towards. This allows us to develop a relationship and have a shared plan on therapy. We can explore therapy options that feel best suited. You will receive a detailed letter summarising this assessment and agreed plan.
