Corinna Shea Person-centred/humanistic counsellor , EC1V

I am an experienced and qualified Person-Centred counsellor, and so work in a client-led, humanistic way.  However, the way in which I work with each person will be tailored to them and them alone - I believe the therapy must fit the client and their needs, not the other way round.  With this in mind I may feel it helpful to draw on skills from other therapeutic models such as CBT, Gestalt and Existential Therapy.

I have appreciated being able to counsel many different people, from varied backgrounds and walks of life, with both simple and complex issues. As well as my work in general counselling practice I have worked within the fields of bereavement, school and college environments (staff and students).

Training and qualifications

I hold a Certificate in Counselling and also a level 5 FdA in Counselling, and am a Registered Member of BACP, fully adhering to their Professional Ethical Framework.

Coming from an Arts background, I also hold a BA (Hons) in Cultural Studies and an MA in Creative Writing:Scriptwriting.

My fees are currently £40 per 50-minute session (before 4pm), and £50 after 4pm.

I offer off-peak concessions of £35 for students and the unemployed.  Other concessions may be discussed.

The initial 50-minute meeting is £35.

I provide long or short-term therapy, depending on the needs of the individual. This can be talked about in the initial meeting, and re-addressed at any point during the therapy.

I am also happy to offer online and telephone counselling, for those who find it difficult to come to the practice.
