Person-centred/humanistic therapistAbout Me
Hello and welcome to my profile.
Seeking therapy can be daunting, especially when looking for help at a particularly tough time. You may be feeling stuck, lost and isolated. Maybe you’re standing at a crossroads, overwhelmed and unsure which way to go.
'The best way out is always through' - Robert Frost
I offer a peaceful, confidential space, and an empathic ear.
You can share your difficulties and explore your feelings safely in the knowledge you will be treated with respect and kindness and that you will be heard without judgment.
By working through your concerns, issues and challenges, therapy can, in time, help you find the ability to face life head-on, striving towards a happier future.
We will explore whatever you decide to bring to our sessions.
You may not even understand exactly what is bothering you or causing your current distress, but taking time to carefully delve into the issues at hand and unravelling any ‘knotty’ thoughts can be a relief.
Therapy helps bring clarity, enabling you to process things more easily.
Using my integrative training I can draw from a range of theories to assist with issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement and other forms of loss, guilt and shame, childhood trauma, life-limiting illness, and personal relationships. I can also offer counselling support with your day-to-day challenges such as helping family and friends who may be suffering from their own physical and mental health issues.
I understand it can be difficult to choose a therapist and I offer a free 15-minute call either over the phone or on Zoom. Then we can arrange an initial 50-minute session. This 50-minute session is an opportunity to see if we can work together. We will talk about your expectations and desired outcomes and I can answer any questions you may have about the counselling process.
Before our first meeting, I will send you a copy of my Client Agreement and we can discuss this further during our first session.
After a few face-to-face sessions, we can talk about Walk and Talk Therapy if you feel it may be an appealing option.
Walk and Talk Therapy has many benefits and can be useful for connecting to the bigger picture and gaining a different perspective.
During a Walk and Talk Therapy session, we walk side by side, discussing your issues. Physical activity can help you to relax and feel more comfortable, making it easier to open up and share your thoughts and feelings. This one-to-one therapy takes place in and around the beautiful Chalke Valley.
I offer both long-term and short-term counselling from my peaceful therapy room in the Chalke Valley. I also offer Zoom sessions.
I work with people over 18 years of age.
