About Me

About me and my therapy practice

Life can be so busy, leaving little or no time for nurturing our mental health. Therapy is the ultimate in self care.

It’s been a tough couple of years, on top of whatever else might have been going on for you, and it’s understandable not to know where to turn next. It’s important to know you’re not alone.

I am a qualified counselling psychotherapist. I offer a safe, neutral, non-judgmental space to explore any thoughts or feelings that have been prominent in your life, whether in the past, the present or quite possibly both.

Practice description

I work with a diverse range of clients from many differing backgrounds and cultures, as well as the wide range of issues they bring. Clients describe me as warm, safe and non-judgemental, creating a comfortable environment to allow people to talk openly, often about things they have been carrying their whole lives. A client once said to me, ‘I can’t wait to tell my friends that counselling actually works!’

I use an integrative approach, which means I use a combination of therapeutic styles that bring together different elements of specific therapies. As an Integrative therapist I believe no single approach can treat every client in all situations.

Our first session

Our first meeting together is an opportunity to see if you feel comfortable talking with me. It gives you an insight into the experience of therapy and enables you to ask any questions you may have about the process.

It’s understandable to feel nervous whether you are new to therapy, or even if you aren’t. Wherever you are, I will meet you there.

Fees

£60 per session. I am currently working only via phone or on Zoom, providing weekly 50-minute sessions to clients. All you need is a quiet, confidential place where you feel safe to talk.

I offer a 20-minute free telephone or Zoom introduction meeting, during which I’ll listen to what you’re hoping to get, explain a little more about the process and answer any questions you may have. There is no obligation to decide there and then, you are welcome to go away and think about whether we are the right fit.

Training and qualifications

I’ve been awarded Individual Accreditation by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) having demonstrated high standards of competent practice by working under their ethical framework. I am committed to ongoing professional development and my work is fully insured. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, which means I am suitable to work with children and adults in a therapeutic capacity.
