Identifying in yourself that you need support and are in a difficult situation is an immensely brave and difficult thing to do. As a therapist I am well aware of that, and will be there to support you through a challenging time. You may be coming to therapy in order to address one issue, only to realise later that there are other questions you have about yourself. I will work with you, and help you explore and try understand whatever it is you wish to. I have a warm, non-judgemental manner, and together we will explore, in an open-minded and creative manner, anything that you want to examine and make sense of.
As a psychodynamic psychotherapist I will work with you weekly, attempting to examine links between past experiences and issues you are struggling with today. I will endeavour to help you see how certain behaviours that you wish to challenge are repeated, and strive to help you gain awareness of those.
I understand that starting therapy is a daunting step. I know this because I've been there myself. With this understanding I will help you find your own way in this process, help you make sense of things and strive to empower you to better understand yourself. I will help you understand that it's you who has the answers, even at times when it may not seem it.
