About Me

My name is Dr Ana Mootoosamy, and my goal is to provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space in which you can open up and really talk about what's on your mind. Sometimes thoughts and feelings can become overwhelming and it can be difficult to know how to cope. I believe that with the help of therapy, you can start to understand your inner world and thought patterns more clearly, and remove the feelings of anxiety and worry from your mind. After gaining this understanding, it can lead to changes in your emotions and relationships with others. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy aims to go deep into your emotions, with the aim of gradually removing distress, helping you to live your life more fully.

Training and qualifications

I am registered with the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), and have been helping people in the charity sector, as well as low-cost services, for many years. In private practice, I have a classic Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy orientation, and as an academic scientist, my approach is influenced by the latest advances in neuroscience and developmental biology. At a fundamental level, I believe that human beings bring each other into "being" and we can heal each other.
