About me

My background is in the creative sector. I started my career as a dresser backstage in West End theatres after leaving school at 17 with 3 O Levels. For the last thirty years, I have been a writer, teacher, and mentor, enjoying the collaborative experience.

I'm a playwright with work produced in theatres and broadcast on BBC Radio 4. As a workshop leader for the Royal Literary Fund, I have led groups for The Royal College of Nursing, Camden Reintegration Base engaging with pupils close to exclusion, and various unions, as well as one-to-one sessions with NHS staff. I have met some extraordinary people in all areas of my work.

During the pandemic my work stopped and, like many, I was thrown into a crisis; where was my life heading, who would I be without my work, and what was going to happen next? My training as an existential coach offered me a fresh approach, examining these questions with curiosity and newfound enthusiasm.

Some background: Coaching (life, personal, existential) emerged from sports coaching, and existential coaching grew out of existential psychotherapy. Taking a philosophical approach, existential coaching questions what it means to be alive, how we live our lives, and what might be holding us up to make that leap and move forwards, whether it is in our work, lives or relationships. We will find solutions together, making changes that work for you - I will not tell you what to do but I may challenge you. We will push through those barriers, opening up possibilities by looking at the choices you make, and taking responsibility for those choices, which in turn may offer greater freedom and the potential to live your life in the way that you want to live.

I am a later-in-life swimmer and runner, completing two triathlons, a marathon and many half marathons and 10ks. Now I run for pleasure, fitness and my mental health.

Do you feel held back? Is there something you want to do or an area you would like to make changes but can’t quite work out how? Then let’s have a conversation.
