About me

I am an Associate Fellow, Chartered Occupational Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and as a HCPC Practitioner Psychologist.  I am a member of the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology. I am based in Staffordshire and have 20 years experience practising in both the private and public sector (NHS and DWP).

I am also the founder of OutdoorCure, an innovative enterprise, blending traditional psychological techniques, with the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors.

I draw upon a number of different types of coaching psychology  (Solution Focused / Mindfulness / Acceptance and Commitment / Compassion focussed) to offer you a tailored service to meet your individual needs.

After a chronic illness or indeed any life-changing event getting back to everyday life can seem daunting and difficult to know where to start. It is these times that having an experienced psychologist can assist you with this transition. To better understand yourself, your relationships and how you experience and respond to the world around you post illness or event.

I feel passionately about coaching and know from my own experience how transforming it can be. It assisted in dealing with chronic pain and my recovery journey returning to work after a life threatening illness.

My expertise in Occupational Psychology provides me with a valuable additional method of assessment and ability to offer specialist advice in the vocational field such as return to work plans and vocational guidance with people who have experienced chronic illness, brain injury and mental health difficulties.

From my extensive experience in both private and public practice I have helped people to overcome a range of difficulties to include:

Depression                                         Anxiety

          Stress                                                 Chronic pain

Brain Injury                                        Chronic illness

Return to work                                  Career Progression

Loss of purpose and identity          Lack of quality of life

Self confidence                                  Maximising potential

Executive coaching                           Bullying and harassment

Offering coaching via 'walk and talk' outdoors in Cannock Chase provides a safe space to allow you to explore your feelings, situation, which may be causing you concern or distress. Following an initial assessment where we discuss what your situation is and how best I might be able to assist you on this journey we will agree a way forward, for example, you may want weekly or fortnightly sessions, hourly or 90-minute sessions.
