About Me

Hello my name is Wendy a humanistic intergrative counsellor,  I offer online or face to face therapy, I have a practice based in Denbigh North Wales.  I understand starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and it is difficult to know where to begin, I strive to put my clients at ease, I offer a warm non- judgemental confidential space, where I will listen with all my attention, work at your  own pace, life can feel  overwhelming and we all struggle at times, and need someone  to  talk to, help us unravel all our worries and concenrs and help us gain better perspective and gain better  coping skills.   I practice a humanistic  approach which works on the concept all human beings have the potential to find their own answers to their problems, self growth and self actualisation,  helping people to understand how they perceive themselves and others and help free them from disabling assumptions and attitudes. Integrative means I use other models in my practice too, tailored to the needs and preferences of my clients, one model does not suit all. I use CBT in my work, a more structured approach  offering techniques and coping strategies often hoework to do at home, to help cliets understand  how distorted thoughts lead to negative feelings and behaviour. I also use mindfulness relaxation exercises,  art therapy, creative and play therapy, and psychodynamic therapy which explores early childhood traumas and unresolved conflicts, and how these apply to current thoughts and beliefs and behaviours.     I have fifteen years of experience working with children,  young people and adults, I have worked with children and young people on problematic behaviours such as harmful or inappropriate sexual behaviours, ADHD, autism spectrum,  ODD, family issues,  depression, anxiety, self-harm,  aggression, anger and violence associated with antisocial personality disorder, bullying, loneliness, attachment disorder,  peer pressure, social and teaching interpersonal skills, online safety, safe sexual relationships.   I have worked with adults on parenting issues,  relationship issues, family issues, anxiety, stress, and depression.
