Simon ImriePsychodynamic psychotherapist
Hello, I’m Simon Imrie, Senior Clinician at East London Mental Health. East London Mental Health operates from Shoreditch High Street and specialises in men’s mental health; helping men understand their feelings and so change their lives. Appointments are available weekdays and a variety of times, including evenings.
*****COVID-19 - Initial consultations and ongoing sessions are currently exclusively online or on the telephone. Confidentiality and privacy remain vital and are assured. When social distancing restrictions are lifted or are eased, I will explore with you if you wish to remain working remotely or if you would prefer to meet in person.*****
I offer Psychodynamic Psychotherapy working both with open ended contracts or fixed-term sessions (normally 6-8). Open ended work allows you to explore your feelings and your behaviours in detail and so come to a deeper understanding of what makes you who you are. Fixed-term work focuses on one aspect of life with which you might be struggling so greater attention can be aimed at alleviating specific distress.
“I believe men often struggle to ask for help especially help with how they feel and the problems they might face. It shouldn’t be like that and it doesn’t have to be.”
It’s not always helpful to try and categorise your difficulties with a label and i do not believe in working to understand a diagnosis but in working to better understand a person. You might group your challenges under a heading and i can help you in the following common areas:
Depression, Anxiety, Relationships, Sexuality, Bereavement, Addiction, Stress.
