Patrick Nelson
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am trained as an integrative counsellor, which means I am skilled in different modalities like Person-centred, CBT, Existential, TA, Transpersonal. This allows me to adapt to the way you present your unique circumstances. Clients bring their personalities, histories, hopes, fears, beliefs, and culture to therapy. Being flexible with therapeutic approach facilitates engagement for both client and therapist.
Sharing what is troubling you can feel uncomfortable, particularly with friends and family. I listen professionally, not judging your thoughts, or behaviour. I provide a calming, confidential setting, receiving your issues with a positive regard that positive change can be achieved.
I have extensive clinical experience working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, bereavement, loneliness, anger, relationship difficulties, workplace challenges, or identity. My training within the NHS has been invaluable, allowing me to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religions.
I bring to my work a 30yr career in the financial sector. I understand the challenges and stress associated with the pressure of a demanding job and how that affects a healthy work-life balance. I appreciate that a person can sometimes feel disconnected from reality, experience uncertainty about belonging, or feel debilitated from painful memories.
