Pat Capel Human Givens psychotherapist , WD19
Who am I?
I have been working as a secondary school teacher for over 20 years. I started my career as a school counsellor and gradually shifted to working with those with Special Educational Needs and being a classroom teacher. Over time I became increasingly aware that a growing number of those around me, pupils and colleagues, were starting to show signs of not having the skills or resources to cope with our demanding world. Depression, anxiety and stress were becoming more and more prevalent and I decided I wanted to do something about it.
What kind of therapy / counselling / coaching do I offer?
I decided to retrain and qualify in the Human Givens methodology which aims to be a short term, solution focused therapy. I have found it to be very successful with young children, adolescents and adults.
What can you expect after the first session?
Human Givens therapists aim to make a difference after one session. Our aim is to have you leave each session feeling better than when you arrived.
The world around us can be very stressful at times. We often lose sight of our particular skills and talents. There are also times when we have to confront ourselves and our world and identify what is inhibiting our ability to function at optimum levels. I offer therapy that is designed to enable you to make sense of your world and of yourself in order to create the potential for you to live a happier and more fulfilling life.
I am still teaching and offer therapy and counselling outside of school hours Monday to Thursday. I am also available on Fridays. I am also able to travel reasonable distances to see you in your home if need be. Travel costs will need to be added to my hourly fee.
I work from home occasionally (£70 a session) but mostly from rooms in the W1 postcode (£90 a session). The closest stations are: Regents Park, Great Portland Street, Oxford Circus and Goodge Street.
