Considering counselling can be a scary process.  It is a process most would rather avoid and perhaps you have for a long time.  Part of us wants to seek help, but another part of us holds us back, hoping that things will get better on their own. Maybe you are feeling down, depressed or anxious.  Perhaps you are having relationship difficulties or find yourself behaving in ways that you want to change.  Modern life encourages us to sweep our feelings under the carpet and carry on as we are, but if you have decided that now is the time to change things, I can help.

I offer an open and confidential space for us to explore your challenges and how you might move forward.  I have been trained in an integrative model of psychotherapy, which means that I adapt the approach to the individuals needs.  Whatever the situation, my approach provides a framework for you to explore, understand and move forward.

Next Steps

Please contact me via email or phone for a conversation and we can then decide how to proceed.  Typically, the next step will be to arrange a time for an initial consultation.  During that meeting we will discuss your situation and get to know each other a little before deciding on whether we will work together for a length of time and on what basis.

How Long Will it Take?

Different clients have different needs based on their unique circumstances.  Some clients need six weeks, some six months, some six years.  We will generally start with six sessions and then review whether to stop, to continue for a defined period, or work on an open ended basis until you decide to finish at a time that feels right for you.  Typically, if there is to be success on a shorter term basis, your needs will be clear and defined and any underlying challenges will be limited.  Longer standing issues and patterns may require a longer process to enable sufficient time for new neural pathways to be created and embedded.
