I'm currently holding my counselling sessions online through Zoom, or by phone.

Do you sometimes find it hard to form good relationships? Does this give you feelings anxiety, anger or numbness, or a sense of isolation and loneliness? Perhaps you look to things like sex, porn, drugs, alcohol?  Feeling different, and even stigmatised, can be an isolating experience.

Your uniqueness is something to be celebrated.

I have a very strong focus on working with difference and diversity in mind as I believe in having a strong sense of our own identity; this will include race and ethnicity as well as sexuality, gender and HIV status.

Areas I work with:

- LGBTQ+ : sexuality and gender identity, coming out

- HIV, Hep C and other related health issues

- Concerns around your use of chems and chemsex, porn, alcohol and other drugs

- Sex and body image

- Intimacy and relationships

- Feelings of depression, anxiety, anger

- Loss - bereavement and breakups

I'm a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor with 10 years experience of working within mental wellbeing, including working with organisations like Samaritans, Metro and THT.

Working together, we will aim to bring about a greater sense of inner peace and acceptance within yourself so that life can be more rewarding and meaningful and a gradual change towards feeling a greater sense of pride, acceptance and strength with yourself.  It’s important that this is done in steps, so I will provide a gentle pace that feels containing, safe and free of judgement.

I believe that understanding how we relate to others are key to having a better a sense of happiness and connection with our own selves, and therefore our understanding of our relationship with the world and people around us. I therefore work in a relational way, which means some of the time we will look at how you and I are relating to each other; the idea of this is that it can perhaps inform your other relationships, including with yourself. It is also an integrative approach which means I can combine theories to suit any given moment during our work. We may also find it useful to use guided visualisations, to explore dreams, and to explore how your body feels physically in relation to your feelings.

We'll have an assessment session to start with, so that we can establish what you feel you need from therapy, and also to get an initial "feel" for how we might work together. There is no commitment to continue - it will be up to you to decide if you want to work with me. After about five or six sessions, we can review how things are going and you can then decide how much longer you would like.

Our sessions will usually be one-to-one and in person; I am available for counselling online (through Zoom), especially given the current Coronavirus situation.

I have public and private indemnity insurance through Howden, and am BACP registered 379659.
