Dr Leiya Lemkey
Integrative practitioner psychologistAbout Me
I believe that each journey towards well-being is personal and unique. I use an integrative approach to therapy, which means that I draw upon a number of different models to tailor sessions to your specific needs and goals. My aim is to create a supportive, safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore challenges, foster change, unpick patterns as well as unlearn and re-learn at your own pace. I have experience working with a number of mental health conditions and have worked in the field of mental health for over ten years. I’m here to help you navigate through these experiences and work towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Training and qualifications
I am an HCPC Registered Psychologist with Chartership through the British Psychological Society (BPS). I received my Doctorate from the University of Birmingham in 2019 and have worked in both the NHS and private sectors. Before completing my doctorate, I earned my Masters in Psychology Conversion from Middlesex University in London, and my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg, Canada.
I have completed specialist training in several therapy models, but I use an integrative approach, adapting therapy to meet my client's individual needs and goals. I have a particular interest in trauma and am trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy for PTSD. Additionally, I have undergone specialist training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and have attended training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).
I have experience treating a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders (panic attacks, health anxiety, social anxiety), depressive disorders, trauma and PTSD, sleep difficulties, self-esteem issues, anger management, substance misuse, stress, relationship difficulties and emotion dysregulation.
