Laura Mccarthy Transactional analysis counsellor , WC1X

Are you finding life's events overwhelming and struggling to cope? Equally, you might be feeling something is wrong but you're unable to put the finger on what's bothering you. Whatever the matter is exploring your thoughts and feelings with a trained professional can help to understand complicated emotions and allow you the choice to do things differently, in ways that might work better for you and enable you to get your needs met.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and offer confidential, non-judgmental therapy in a nondiscriminatory practice in two locations Ramsgate, Kent and Kings Cross, London. I believe the therapeutic relationship is key to healing and requires a commitment from both client and therapist.

I suggest an initial session - at my standard fee - where we can meet and talk, and you can ask any questions you might have before we both decide if we want to go ahead.

I am deeply committed to an ethical, non-discriminatory practice and as a member, I abide by the principles and ethics of the BACP.

I have experience of working with many different clients allowing me a broad spectrum of experience of issues including depression, anxiety (generalised, separation, performance and social), eating disorders, relationship issues, panic disorder, addiction, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, OCD, PTSD, C-PTSD, depression, bereavement and abuse.

In addition to my psychotherapy work, I have 20 years business experience within high pressured music and entertainment businesses. Through this, I have developed skills in supporting people to thrive in stressful situations and mentoring and coaching them into fulfilling their best potential.
