I have worked for 17 years in the NHS and for several mental health charities. I usually work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-criticism, shame, anger, dissociation, addiction, self-destructive tendencies, and much more. Such struggles often stem from the experience of multiple and complex life events and circumstances, including past and/or present abusive and neglectful relationships, abandonment, bereavement, bullying, trauma, racism, sexism, gender expectations, study/work/financial pressures, and/or more existential challenges such as finding meaning and purpose in life.
I offer a warm, nurturing space in which, collaboratively, we can explore and make sense of the difficulties you are facing. My doctoral level training in counselling psychology (2015-present; due to be completed in 2019) means I am skilled in working integratively, that is using several therapeutic approaches including CBT, psychodynamic, and existential models, and able to tailor my work to meet your specific needs. Primarily, my style is relational.
