Dr Jo Gee Gee Integrative psychotherapist , GU2
I am a BACP and UKCP accredited Psychotherapist, having trained at the University of Roehampton as a psychodynamic/integrative psychotherapist (MSc, PhD). I am also trained in DBT and MBCT. I work with adolescents and adults, individually and through groups. I specialise in working with mothers, eating disorders and personality disorders.
I work collaboratively with clients, integrating theories subject to clients needs and goals.
As a psychotherapist I have worked within the NHS and private sector. I lead the Priory Hospital Woking Eating Disorder psychotherapy team, as well as lecturing on psychotherapy courses. I facilitate DBT, Mindfulness and Schema Therapy groups as well as seeing individual patients.
Psychological therapy and counselling offer clients the opportunity to gain insight into their difficulties or distress, establish a greater understanding of their motivation, find more appropriate ways of coping and develop the tools necessary to bring about changes in their thinking and behaviour.
I work using a range of different evidence-based therapies and techniques, including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, solution focused and mindfulness based cognitive therapy, helping clients to explore past, current or future concerns. I will also work with different modalities dependent on clients’ needs and goals.
