About me
I am a UKCP, BAAT, and HCPC-registered Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and Art Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. My journey into psychotherapy began with my own transformational experience, which highlighted the profound healing potential of the psychodynamic approach. This personal insight continues to inspire and guide my work with clients. Throughout my career, I have worked across a variety of settings, including the NHS, charities, education, and private practice. I have particular expertise in supporting individuals with complex emotional difficulties, histories of trauma and abuse, and those living with disabilities. My personal experiences have deepened my understanding and empathy, helping me to offer a compassionate and nuanced approach to the challenges people face. Alongside my private practice, I manage a specialist service within the NHS, ensuring that my work remains informed by the latest developments in mental health care. I have a BA Hons in Illustration, an MSc in Art Psychotherapy and a full clinical training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in Art and Design, and my creative background enriches my therapeutic practice. I trained as an Art Psychotherapist and later pursued further qualifications in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Mentalization-Based Treatment MBT . These experiences have shaped a thoughtful and flexible approach to supporting individuals on their journeys toward healing and self-discovery. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic principles and offers a compassionate and reflective space to explore the deeper layers of thoughts, feelings, and relationships. I believe in working collaboratively to uncover patterns and understand challenges, empowering you to build resilience and embrace meaningful change. Creativity plays an important role in my work, as I recognise the power of imagination and non-verbal expression to access emotions that words alone may struggle to convey. Whether through verbal or creative exploration, I aim to meet your unique needs with empathy and care. I support people facing a range of emotional and relational challenges, including: • Anxiety, depression, and emotional distress • Complex emotional difficulties • Histories of trauma and abuse • Living with disabilities • Relationship and attachment challenges • Self-exploration and personal growth Having personally experienced the transformative impact of psychotherapy, I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive space for others to navigate their own paths to healing and growth. My personal experience of disability further fuels my commitment to helping individuals explore and overcome the unique challenges they face, with empathy and understanding. My aim is to create a safe, confidential space where you feel comfortable to be yourself. Therapy with me is a place where you can explore whatever is on your mind—whether it’s big, overwhelming feelings or the smaller, quieter thoughts that you’re not sure matter they do . I’m not a “blank screen.” I bring warmth, curiosity, and a genuine human connection to our sessions. I want you to feel heard, understood, and supported. Therapy isn’t about judgment or pressure—it’s about offering you a secure space where you can explore freely, knowing that there are clear boundaries to keep it safe. You can talk about anything that feels important to you—your relationships, memories, struggles, or just how you’re feeling right now. There’s no right or wrong way to approach therapy, and there’s no homework or expectations. Together, we’ll look at the patterns in your life and how your past might be shaping your present, helping you make sense of things in a deeper way. The relationship we build in therapy is really important. It’s often through understanding how we relate to each other in this space that new insights and growth can happen. My role is to support you in exploring your inner world at your own pace, helping you find new ways to approach life’s challenges and feel more grounded in yourself. I am based in East London and online and offer sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Friday on a weekly basis, with clients sometimes coming up to three times per week. Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about creating lasting change and understanding. It’s a process that takes time, but it can lead to a stronger sense of self, better relationships, and a deeper connection to what really matters to you.
