Max Noak
Jungian psychotherapistAbout Me
Psychotherapy means healing of the soul. It is the listening cure. Paying attention to what is yet unknown (without and within) may allow for healing to percolate through from our depths: memories, dreams, wounds and desires.
The process of healing is universally human but I have worked through a professional training to facilitate this process as best as possible.
I am a professional member of the British Psychoanalytic Council, the International Association of Analytical Psychologists and the Society of Analytical Psychology.
My professional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy was built on closely supervised clinical work and theoretical teaching on a wide range of contemporary approaches to best therapeutic practice.
The style of therapy relies on the professional wisdom of Analytical Psychology and Psychoanalysis. This therapy is spacious, exploratory and based on the patient observation of emergent psychic processes.
I originally studied theology, philosophy and religious studies. From this background I will attempt to approach all material in cultural breadth.
My work touches on the deep traces of cultural, intergenerational and early childhood trauma. I have conducted an infant observation for experiential study of primitive states of mind. My personal background makes me sensitive to the collective wounds of war and totalitarianism.
My personal spirituality is based on meditation and silence. I have an interest in accompanying people who experience spiritual emergence and crisis.
I spent years studying C G Jung’s Red Book as a source for depth psychology.
