About me

I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy in person in Cambridge and online. A psychoanalytic approach involves thinking about our relationship to the unconscious, exploring what emerges in words, associations, dreams, and how we remember our stories. Some people seek therapy because of a specific issue or problem, and some come seeking to deepen their understanding of themselves. Often that helps people live more fully, and has more focused benefits such as enriching their creativity. I do some work around processes in organisations, which can help people think about the roles they find themselves taking up at work or in other groups, and to think about the dynamics taking place around them, which is particularly relevant to challenging workplace situations. My original training focussed on people’s spirituality, and some of the people come to me to explore the spiritual / religious dimension of their lives. One area of specialisation is around work with people in the LGBT+ world.

Training and qualifications

My initial training focussed on work around people's spirituality and where that relates to other aspects of people's lives. Subsequent professional development has taken me in a more explicitly psychoanalytic direction, working with a wide range of people, including members of the the LGBT+ communities, people working with art to explore their inner lives, and cross-cultural work. I'm currently doing further professional training with the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
