About me
I am an integrative counsellor working towards becoming an accredited existential psychotherapist. I am registered with the BACP and I am also an accredited member of NCPS. I integrate various therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of each client. My focus is on building a strong therapeutic alliance with each client which I believe is the foundation of any positive change that comes from therapy. I aim to create a safe, and non-judgmental space where clients can share and process their difficulties and move towards more fulfilling and satisfying relationships with themselves and others. I believe that each individual has the ability to heal themselves and overcome any difficulties they are faced with, and it is my aim to help clients to access the inner guidance and resilience that lies within them. I will help you to navigate the challenges you encounter in your everyday life and work towards freeing yourself from the burdens of the past. I have experience working with clients going through depression, anxiety, Complex PTSD, sexual abuse, bereavement, OCD, and relationship difficulties, family issues, and have a special interest in eating disorders. During eight years in my career as an employment lawyer, I spent a large proportion of my work representing clients experiencing a variety of mental health problems as well as physical health challenges forcing them to be out of work. During this time, I witnessed that a lot of my clients’ mental health issues were exacerbated by breakdown in communication, mostly stemming from low self-esteem due to their psychological vulnerability and a lack of self-belief. I worked with people from all walks of life, including the most vulnerable individuals going through relationship and mental health breakdowns, problems sleeping, addictions, depression, and anxiety. This manifested in a desire to pursue a career in counselling and psychotherapy to help individuals overcome their psychological challenges and help them to move towards a life full of meaning and purpose.
