Jeanne Vorster Naidoo
Clinical psychologistAbout Me
As an experienced Clinical Psychologist, I provide in-person and remote psychotherapy to adults. I am trained to support individuals in developing a deeper understanding of uncomfortable and undesirable emotions and behaviours. I help to develop strategies to manage difficult feelings and change unwanted patterns of behaviour. I work collaboratively and assist people in working towards a life that feels authentic, rewarding and meaningful.
I am trained in Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Interpersonal and Person-Centred therapies. My theoretical approach is predominantly informed by psychodynamic therapies, which rests on the premise that present experiences may be influenced by past experiences. In other words, thinking about past experiences may help us to understand current relationships, emotional and behavioural responses. My practical approach is interpersonal and I aim to be an active contributor in a client’s effort to work towards living a life that is aligned with their personal values and aspirations.
I have been providing individual therapy since 2004 and joined a leading private mental health provider in central London, in 2007. I facilitated therapy groups on the Interpersonal therapy programme, Eating Disorders Unit and Young Persons Unit between 2007 and 2013. I delivered individual therapy to in-patients, daycare patients and out-patients from 2007 until 2017. I have been in private practice since 2016. I remain committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to expand theoretical knowledge and enhance therapeutic skills. I am particularly interested in the psychology of women and the application of psychodynamic, interpersonal, and attachment-based principles to psychotherapy.
