About Me

Are you struggling to cope with difficult feelings or circumstances? Have things been building up and is it now time to seek support? Are you feeling stuck and unable to find a way through? If so, I can help by providing a private, safe place in which to talk about the things that are troubling you.

When things are difficult, many people find themselves unwilling or unable to talk to family, friends or colleagues and this is when talking to a therapist can really help. I offer 1-1 sessions in Oxted, London Victoria and online and have supported many people who have been struggling with the following types of difficulties:

- anxiety

- lack of self confidence / low self esteem

- persistent low mood or sadness

- bereavement

- stress

- unwanted patterns of behaviour

- trauma

- relationship difficulties

- struggling to cope after separation or divorce

- managing life transitions e.g parenthood, menopause or retirement

- finding meaning or purpose

- challenges in the workplace

In our sessions I will listen closely to what is going on for you. I will help you to make sense of your emotions, understand the roots of your difficulties and develop greater understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Understanding yourself better will in turn enable you to make positive changes in your life, find your own answers and strengthen your ability to cope.

Before training and practising as a therapist, I worked for more than 12 years in marketing and business development in the property and professional services industries. I therefore understand some of the stresses and strains of corporate life and the difficulties that may arise from trying to balance work with other important aspects of your life.

Prior to setting up my private therapy practice in 2017, I worked as a counsellor at the University of Roehampton and the Wimbledon Guild Counselling Service. I also worked as a telephone adviceline counsellor for CiC, an Employee Assistance Provider.

I have an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from Middlesex University. ‘Integrative’ means that my training included a number of different therapeutic approaches, (e.g. psychodynamic, person-centred, relational, transactional analysis, gestalt). When working with you I will draw upon the most appropriate approach according to your individual needs.

As a registered member of the BACP and the UKCP, I abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and the UKCP's Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct.
