Dr Desiree Scarpellini
ACT psychologistAbout Me
Hello, thank you for lingering over my profile.
Could you benefit from a safe place to talk?
If so, reach out to me online. I will do my utmost to listen to you and support you with finding a meaningful way forward.
My name is Dr Desiree Scarpellini, I am a professionally-trained, experienced listener and agent for change.
I have been offering confidential psychotherapy and counselling to adult individuals, couples and groups for over a decade.
I am committed to offering a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic environment online and in-person. My in person therapy clinic is based in Earls Court, London SW5. For online therapy, I make use of a private virtual office on my Zoom Platform.
Therapy with me is formulated around you and your needs; I offer open-ended sessions, time-limited therapy sessions, as well as 'ad hoc' or one-off consultations.
Please note: Therapy is not a magic wand. Your commitment to the process is of utmost importance.
It is also important that you take time choose the therapist that is a good fit for you—someone you can trust, who keeps you in mind, and who makes you feel supported and understood.
As a therapist, I view therapy as a collaborative relationship and as such I will be expecting you to be working with me throughout the process so that you leave with a sense of ownership over the changes that you achieve in this context.
I specialise in helping my clients to identify and achieve personal development goals (e.g. self-awareness, compassion, mindfulness, emotion regulation), to overcome mental health problems, and to find fulfilment in relationships that matter.
My broad aims can be described in the following way:
1. To offer a consistent, confidential and validating space.
2. To support you with making sense of and/or overcoming distressing mental health presentations or repetitive cycles.
3. To help with identifying what matters to you, so that you enact behaviours that enhance your life in personally meaningful ways.
4. To provide a space where you can gain a sense of expertise with taking good care of yourself and your relationships.
