About me

Are you struggling to see the wood for the trees; feeling lost or anxious, and looking for some help to find your way back to you-   Hi, I am Deb, an Integrative Psychotherapist working in a small private practice in Northampton. I offer short, or long-term counselling to individual adults and young people. Integrative simply means that I employ techniques from a number of different approaches, which enables me to personalise your therapy to meet your own individual needs.   My therapy room is a safe, confidential & non-judgemental space where I can help you explore and begin to understand difficult and overwhelming issues, which may be making coping with everyday life a challenge. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, but I understand that you may be struggling to know the best way forward for you at the moment. We will work together to help you gain insight, and bring about the necessary change required to improve your mental & emotional wellbeing.   Working within the mental health and safeguarding arena’s for many years I have nurtured a genuine fascination for people and their individual stories. I am able to employ this diverse experience to inform my practice as a Psychotherapist. As a Counsellor for Rape Crisis I have significant experience of working with survivors of sexual violence and trauma. Additionally, I have worked with the Police service for 18 years, developing a passion for working individually with emergency services, medical or armed forces personnel to help them process the many sources of trauma they encounter in their working lives. I have recently completed a course in Trauma-Focussed CBT to assist in this area of work.   My therapy room is based in central Northampton, within walking distance of bus and train stations, and with nearby car parking. I also work online and via telephone, which enables me to offer appointments to clients further afield, or whom find it difficult to attend the practice.   PLEASE contact me if you would like to discuss how I can help you. My email and telephone number are given on this profile. We can set up an initial, no-further obligation, session where we will talk about what it is you hope to get out of counselling.
