About me

I am a fully qualified integrative-relational psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, lecturer-trainer, with over forty years professional experience. I am a registered-accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Counselling and Psychotherapy UKCP since 1993 and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy BACP . I began my career in the helping professions in 1975 as a residential social worker in therapeutic communities for people with problems of living related to mental health. I qualified as a psychotherapist in 1982 and have been seeing clients both privately and in organisations ever since. I have run counselling and psychotherapy training, facilitated groups and clinically supervised counsellors and psychotherapists of all orientations. One of my recent past professional responsibilities was as the Programme Leader of Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Course Director for an Integrative-Relational Counselling BA Hons programme in southwest London, validated by Middlesex University and course accredited by BACP. I have run numerous additional short trainings and am committed to ongoing professional development. My therapy work is primarily based upon attention to the therapeutic relationship and the client's relationship to his/her inner and outer worlds. I aim to vary my approach in accordance with my clients' individual needs. At the heart of my approach is a deep-rooted interest in human-beings and living its pleasures and dis-eases and helping people to overcome their problems, find more contentment and realise their potential. As a highly experienced Integrative therapist, I am someone who will listen to and respect your values and experiences. I would offer you an opportunity to explore in depth your personal reasons for seeing me. Thereafter, I would support you in making your own decisions. My therapy practice encourages a confidential, safe place to accomplish your chosen aims and objectives. The types of Life issues I can help you with may be one or more of the following: Abuse or Violence; A desire for Greater Self-Awareness; Addiction; Anxiety; Bereavement; Coping with Change; Depression; Difficulties with Anger; Divorce; Feelings of Emptiness; Low Self-Esteem or Confidence; Redundancy; Relationship Difficulties; Separation; Stress at Work; Trauma. I am also able to offer Clinical Supervision to fellow professional colleagues and groups.
