Dr Clare Murray
Couples therapistAbout Me
*Online sessions available all week*
I am a relationship and psychosexual therapist, with a private practice in South Kensington (Tuesdays only).
It takes courage for couples to seek help and often the journey of the work can be painful. I endeavour to create a climate of trust and openness with clients through warmth, empathy and dialogue (and also humour, where appropriate). It is not possible to build a good relationship with my clients without ongoing interaction, which helps us to work creatively with each other. I see both couples and individuals who are experiencing a range of relationship problems (i.e., communication, infidelity, infertility, loss, psychosexual issues) as well as issues related to stages of life (i.e., new parenthood, menopause, 'empty nest' experience, partner illness), that require the couple to renegotiate the boundaries of their relationship.
Although the work can be hard, therapy can be transformational for individual partners and their relationship. Building self-awareness, mutual trust and respect, the ability to empathise with each other and better ways of communicating allows the relationship to be a source of comfort and support, and ultimately much joy for each partner.
