About me

I work with both individuals and groups. I have several years of experience working in the NHS with adults suffering with complex needs and personality disorders. I teach trainee counsellors and supervise qualified counsellors and other professionals working in the health and social care field.   Prior to my psychodynamic training, I worked for several years in the field of substance-misuse with adults, young people and families. I am experienced at working with people in distress and struggling with a wide range of difficulties.    Therapy is an opportunity to explore and find words for our experiences, thoughts, feelings and behaviours; both those we are aware of and those of which we are less conscious. This can help us to process our experience, including that which is painful and traumatic.   Therapy can help us to understand ourselves; our thinking, behaviour and relationships better, thus enabling constructive change in our lives. We can move beyond stuck, repetitive and self-destructive patterns of relating to ourselves and others, to new and healthier possibilities.   I am committed to providing a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental and confidential space within which this process can occur.   I offer both longer-term open-ended work and brief focused therapy, in-person in Tunbridge Wells and online.   I also offer supervision to therapists and to other professionals including psychologists and youth workers. This may be regular ongoing work or a briefer period of consultation. If you would like to explore the possibility of therapy or supervision, do contact me. I look forward to speaking with you.

Fee structure

My standard fee is £75 per 50 minute individual session.   I charge £90 for an initial consultation and allow two sessions for this, to enable us to consider whether we can work well together and to explore any questions or concerns you may have about therapy. If you decide to proceed, we will then agree a regular time, either once or twice weekly to meet. This will be at the same time each week.    My standard fee for group therapy is £30 per 90 minute session.    I have some reduced-fee places for those who are unemployed, studying or on a low income, so please discuss this with me if this is relevant to you. There may be a waiting-time for these places.    For supervision I charge £75 per 50 minute meeting.
