Catherine Frisby
Psychodynamic counsellorAbout Me
Coming to counselling for the first time can be daunting and may take some courage. I would like to offer you a safe, confidential, non-judgemental, neutral space to work through difficult feelings, gain insights and help you move forward.
Psychodynamic counselling is a process that works through a therapeutic partnership between the client and the counsellor, to explore and challenge the patterns that you may identify in your life that hold you back, or to deal with issues in relationships or experiences.
It may be separation or loss that has brought you to this point. Perhaps you are suffering from depression, anxiety or relationship difficulties. It may be past traumas that are affecting you. It could be a vague sense of dissatisfaction and a search for a greater sense of meaning that is the source of your discomfort. Whatever the issue, counselling with a skilled counsellor can guide you through periods of difficulty and change towards a deeper understanding of yourself.
I appreciate that finding the right counsellor is important. We can discuss in our initial meeting what you would like to achieve from counselling and if you feel able and comfortable for us to work together.
I work with adults on a short or long-term basis. We can decide together what might be most appropriate.
