About me

I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is at the heart of therapy, and that building trust together is an important part of the process. I work integratively, which means I can draw on different approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, focusing on the here and now and recognising that you are the expert on your own experiences. I aim to offer a warm, supportive space where you feel heard, accepted, and able to explore yourself more deeply at your own pace. At times, where it feels helpful, we may also explore past experiences and how these may be affecting you in the present. I offer both short- and long-term counselling, always working at a pace that feels comfortable for you and providing a safe, confidential space to talk about whatever may be troubling you. I offer a calm and non judgmental space for you to work through whatever it is that you feel is important to bring to the therapy session. This means sessions are led by you at all times as your are the expert on your own experience. I have experience supporting adults with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma, neurodiversity, gender identity, workplace issues, parenting, substance use. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to find out more or arrange an initial session, during the first session we can find out whether we both feel comfortable working together, chat a little about what it is that is troubling you and I can tell you more about the way I work.
