About me
As I have developed my clinical experience, working with clients for periods ranging from several months to a year and beyond, I have experienced the full range of human emotion alongside them. There have been moments of laughter, tears, sadness, hope and moments of real connection. For me, one of the most meaningful aspects of counselling is the therapeutic relationship we build together. I value the trust that clients place in me when they share parts of their lives that may be difficult, painful or deeply personal. I don't take that trust for granted. Ending therapy can sometimes feel emotional because a meaningful relationship has been built. At the same time, I see endings as an important part of the therapeutic process — an opportunity to recognise the progress that has been made, reflect on what has been learned, and support the client as they move forward with greater confidence and independence. My aim is not for clients to need me indefinitely, but to help them develop a stronger understanding of themselves and the confidence to take what they have discovered into the next chapter of their lives.

Training and qualifications
I hold a BSc in Computer Analysis and have over 30 years of professional experience with MRC@UCL. During my career, I also served as a union representative for 12 years, advocating for fairness and supporting colleagues in their dealings with HR, management and trade unions. Since 2022, I have been undertaking a four-year professional training programme in Counselling and Psychotherapy at TA East, following a humanistic and Transactional Analysis approach. I am currently at the final stage of deciding between UKCP registration and CTA, and have already been endorsed for private practice. I have completed over 300 clinical hours and continue to develop my clinical experience through ongoing client work, supervision and professional training.
