About me

People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it is a a one off event that you might need supporting through, sometimes something hasn't quite felt right for a while and you've decided now is the time to explore it, and sometimes everything in life just hits at once and you need someone to help you hold that sense of overwhelm. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with additional needs and social, emotional, mental health difficulties, as well as adults with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges and those struggling with how their life looks at present. While talking can be important, as a music therapist I believe that the creative process of playing, listening to, and writing music can add huge value to the therapeutic process. The non-verbal medium of music is a powerful way of accessing/ processing thoughts and feelings that have been tucked away in our minds, previously un-recognised and un-named. I keep the client and their needs at the centre of all my work. Every session with every client looks different and I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to ensure I am best meeting my clients needs. Flexibility and rapport building is at the heart of my therapeutic practice and are the key ingredients for positive therapeutic change.
