About me
Hi, my name is Saad. I specialise in anxiety, trauma, family issues, neurodivergence, gender and sexual identity. I am a Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) affirmative therapist. I have lived in different parts of the world, and I bring this rich experience with me, as I work with my clients. I can work with you to help you experience a sense of peace and confidence in yourself. When we go through painful experiences, our guards can come up, and this makes it difficult for us to feel in touch with ourselves. I use a variety of techniques, including talk therapy, mindfulness and work somatically to help you process your feelings. I welcome all parts of my clients, using an Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework. More specifically, I work with the young, inner-child parts of you, which may have been wounded in the past, and long for understanding and kindness. I offer a free thirty minute consultation to help you get a sense of me. Please don't hesitate to reach out.

Training and qualifications
Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology, University of Durham Masters by Research (MRes) Psychology, Edinburgh University Diploma in Human Relations and Counselling, Robert Gordon University. Professional experience: My experience includes working with Wellbeing Scotland to support clients suffering from trauma, including those dealing with chronic anxiety, domestic abuse, and bereavement. Additionally, I have worked as a counsellor at LGBT Health and Wellbeing, supporting a diverse range of clients. Within my private practice, I have supported clients from a range of backgrounds on issues around familial acceptance, loss, sexual abuse, and forging a stable identity in the aftermath of traumatic events. I have also supported clients with the complex intersectionality of race, queerness, gender and neurodivergence. Alongside my private practice, I work with the organisation African Rainbow Family, where I have supported refugee clients process their trauma, come to terms with the grief of migration, and find renewed hope. I believe that therapy is a sacred process, which allows us a path to return home to ourselves. I am deeply passionate about working with clients who are looking for a therapist with a shared lived experience and understanding.
