About me

Hello I'm Sophie. Are you a creative woman, over 40, struggling with anxiety or feeling overwhelmed by a loud inner critic? Perhaps you are navigating a major midlife transition—like a career change, an empty nest, or hormonal shifts—and finding that your old ways of coping no longer work. For creative minds, these seasons of life can bring deep self-doubt, anxiety, perfectionism, and loss of creative flow. Well you don’t have to navigate these transitions alone. I am an BABCP accredited CBT Psychological Therapist. I am also an older women who is a singer songwriter/performing musician. I help women move past anxiety and creative blocks to reclaim their purpose and wellbeing. As a creative women myself - I have valuable lived experience and insights and am passionate about sharing what I have learnt; to help other women navigate the challenges involved in living a creative life. I have over 30 years of experience in physical and mental health services including NHS Community Mental Health teams and Talking Therapy services. I originally qualified as an Occupational Therapist before completing training in Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and ACT. Since 2023 I have focussed full time on my Private Therapy Practice, based in Lewes East Sussex and UK wide online, alongside my music and other creative projects. Traditional therapy does not always meet the specific needs of creative women. So my approach is different - blending my own insights with CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and neuroscience informed Coaching. We work together, to develop awareness and understanding of how the Mind/Brain works, to develop psychological flexibility, challenge limiting beliefs about talent, aging and success and get you back into your creative flow. My aim is to help you build awareness and understanding so that you can change the thinking and behaviours that are holding you back; worry, overthinking, procrastination, perfectionism. To overcome your overwhelm and make space to create fearlessly! Get in touch for an free informal chat about how we might work together. I look forward to hearing from you.
