About me
As someone who trained in psychotherapy later in life, I know what it is like to see dreams shattered, and I also know what it is like patiently to rebuild a good life. I am a parent, I have been divorced, I have known troubles and I have known peace and serenity. I would like to explore with clients what it is that drives them, both for the good and the bad, and see how we can harness what is already there to drive your life in the direction you want it to go. Bravery is required to look inside yourself to see what scars from the past you are still carrying, and how to acknowledge these and overcome them, or incorporate them into a vibrant new mode of living. I generally practise existential therapy, so working with clients to understand the underlying purpose of life and how you make sense of it. Results can come quickly, as you start to see that in certain situations you maybe always react in a way that does not necessarily serve you best. I look to uncover those patterns, see where they come from, and then establish some healthier or more adaptive patterns so that you can respond rather than react to life.
