About me

I’m a psychotherapist with over 20 years experience. My practice is based in Farnsfield, near Southwell (NG22). It’s a quiet, comfortable space that offers a high degree of privacy. As a therapist, my role isn’t to give you all the answers — I don’t have them, and therapy isn’t about being told what to do. I don’t arrive with a plan for who you should be or how you should live. Instead, we work collaboratively, side by side, in a confidential and supportive space where you can feel safe, respected, and able to explore your experience at your own pace. The aim is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, because it’s from that understanding that real, lasting change begins to emerge.

Training and qualifications

I have a Masters degree in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy from The Sherwood Institute in Nottingham which was awarded by the University of Birmingham (2008). My clinical experience includes working with adults of all ages in a variety of organisational settings, including a GP's surgery, employee counselling service, the voluntary sector, insurance companies and a primary care psychotherapy and counselling service provider for the NHS. Issues I have worked with include depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, bereavement, childhood abuse, work-related stress, divorce, and personal development. I have a particular interest in working with adults with a recent diagnosis of autism whether that be "formal" or self identified, and their families. I have experience working with trainee counsellors and psychotherapists studying at diploma, Bachelors and Masters degree level. I also qualified as a supervisor in 2017.
