About me
I am a counsellor specialising in grief, loss and bereavement including anticipatory loss and supporting individuals with life limiting illness. After working for the NHS for 20 years, I understand the power of talking to people and the space they need to be able to be open and honest about their fears and wants. Sometimes it is more difficult to talk to those nearest, as they don’t want to upset loved ones, therefore having the time to engage with a therapist can be very beneficial. Everyone’s journey is completely unique to them, and I believe that being heard, understood and supported can make a meaningful difference during life’s most challenging moments. Whether you are suffering bereavement, adjusting to a diagnosis, coping with loss, caring for a loved one, or struggling with the challenges that later life can bring, I aim to help you find understanding, resistance and a way forward. As an integrative counsellor, I provide an integrative approach with a person centred, holistic outlook. Working as a counsellor for a charity who specialises in giving those affected by cancer and life limiting illness a voice, I am able to provide support either short term or long term and help those clients to face the challenges ahead. I also work with those people who are overwhelmed and crushed by life, and it is causing them anxiety. It is my place is to help you gain a greater understanding of ourselves and our life experiences. One of my other specialities is to help those who have recently suffered the loss of a pet. I understand the loss of a beloved pet can have a profound impact on both individuals and families. The bond we share with our animals goes beyond words, and their passing can bring deep grief that deserves recognition. Please feel free to free to get in touch to arrange a consultation to check we are the correct fit for each other.
