About me
I offer holistic psychotherapy It takes courage and energy to make a change and a safe, trusting environment to be able to do it. I believe there is a sacred stubbornness within all of us, that which refuses to give up. Sometimes it feels like it’s all over, but It is this sacred stubbornness that brings one into a therapy room. I respect this stubborn spirit and invest in making it shine brighter. My practice is somewhere you can experiment with being authentic, where you can put down for a bit what you are carrying, slowly begin to find honour in being yourself. Within your skin is the best place to be! Holistic psychotherapy appreciates the fact that each of us constantly move from feeling in the heart, to thinking with our minds, sensing with our bodies and being aware and conscious at a much deeper level. A therapeutic endeavour has to honour this complex and rich human experience. This is what I strive to do as a holistic psychotherapist. I practiced as a person centred counsellor for many years and worked with a plethora of human conditions and challenges. I worked across continents and the commonality in all human suffering led me to Buddhist psychotherapy. I was inspired by the amount of high quality research by pioneers that pointed to the effectiveness of inner mindful work on mental health and decided to train with the Nalanda Institute of Contemplative Sciences and Psychotherapy NY USA, under the tutelage of Dr Joe Loizzo, Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, Cornell University. I offer a somatic element to my modality, as the mind and the body seem to be inexplicably, intricately connected and sometimes working on sensations and the language of the body, seem to yield surprising results. I am certified Yoga teacher and specialise in breath work for mental health.Meditation and its healing properties have slowly established a credible place in my practice and this is something I encourage my clients to create space for in their lives. I discovered the tremendous healing potential in the Bach flowers and realised how powerful they can be in the realm of psychotherapy, and may help advance therapy significantly, potentially cutting therapy time. I therefore, had to include this in my offering as a registered practitioner with the Bach Centre UK. I believe that my encounter and study of both the western and eastern, the modern and the ancient, mainstream and alternative approaches to mental health has culminated into a very unique offering which is wholesome and encompassing. My study and practice have fostered in me a core, from where I am able to be present with my clients in a profoundly healing way.
