About me
My practice is grounded in existential psychotherapy. This means that I approach the difficulties that are brought to therapy as human challenges of living, rather than a pathology or illness. It also means that I draw on the reflections and philosophies of other humans from across history and the world to offer new ways of thinking about and living through life's challenges. I aim to offer a space and relationship in which you can slow down and tune in to what is going on beyond the surface noise. You may be feeling stuck, spinning your wheels on a particular challenge, or moving through life in a trance. Or you may simply want to explore and understand yourself a bit better. Together, we will slow down and attend to the aspects of your experience that have been unheard, bring clarity to things that have been confused, and identify possibilities for different choices and meaning. I have worked within the British National Health Service (NHS), in university services, trauma services and in hospital settings, with a diverse range of issues and demographic groups. I have a post-graduate certificate in counselling psychology, a post-graduate diploma in integrative psychotherapy, and a master’s degree in existential psychotherapy. These enable me to draw on a range of ideas and approaches to help each client find clarity on their ways of relating to the world, to others and to themselves. I trained and gained most of my experience in the UK, and now practice between the UK and Portugal, offering remote sessions via zoom, in-person sessions in Aveiro, Portugal, and quarterly in-person days in London.
