About me
I have helped clients with complex issues understand their patterns and explore options for living with less discomfort now and in the future. Most clients start to see improvement in their lives within months. Working together, we will consider your feelings, thoughts, and actions, recognise unhelpful patterns, and become more aware of your needs and how to address them. I work with people who are experiencing emotional distress that is spilling into their relationships and jobs, and they need a space to talk through what is happening for them. Come and see me to discuss your life experiences, whether you are in crisis, feeling numb, grieving, or confused. I have experience in helping people deal with life and work-based stress, previous trauma, transitions such as leaving university, entering the workforce, becoming a parent, relationship breakdown, facing an empty nest, and retiring. I also have experience working with clients with ADHD, Autism and other neurodiversity and with clients who have experienced childhood trauma. I'm a relational and integrative psychotherapist, which means I tailor my approach to your specific needs and concerns rather than expecting you to fit into a single theoretical modality. I believe that the power of psychotherapy lies in the relationship we create in the room together, as I sit alongside you as you explore your life. You don't have to manage whatever you're feeling on your own. I offer a free 15-minute call to discuss how we might work together and decide whether to meet in person or online. I am based in London, but I can provide online sessions for anyone based in the UK. Therapy with me is a collaborative process. We work together to look at what has brought you to therapy, whether that is your relationship patterns, issues you are having at work, or a particular life transition you are facing. We might look at how you may have developed patterns in your life and look at ways you can start to improve your confidence and self-esteem by strengthening your understanding of your own needs. I also work on developing clients' self-compassion, especially when they are experiencing shame and/or negative self-talk. These methods work on anxiety and depression as well. For example, I have used nesting dolls to develop a deeper understanding of what has occurred in the client's life over their lifetime. The clients determine what time period each doll represents and add photos to each doll to give them a greater sense of connection to who they were at that time. It provides a really rich understanding of why the client has developed the patterns of relating they have and allows us to collaborate to decide how to address their issues. To develop an understanding of the client’s needs, I work with the client to determine their values, and their needs emerge from this work. We then work on helping the client begin to articulate their needs to those around them. I offer face-to-face sessions in rooms in London Bridge, the City, and North London, and I can also offer walk-and-talk sessions in local parks in these areas.
