About me
My Psychotherapy and Counselling Practice is based in Whitstable which is easily accessible from Canterbury, Herne Bay and Faversham. I also provide online sessions. I am committed to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment where we can explore issues and acknowledge psychological pain which may have been present throughout your life, or that may have developed over time in response to difficult life experiences and relationships. The aim of our work together is to identify, better understand and work through the issues that are impacting negatively on your life, to allow you to feel differently and to initiate positive change. I provide one-to-one Psychotherapy with both adults and older adolescents, as well as facilitating Couples Therapy and Clinical Supervision. One to One and Couples Therapy can be on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period. Clinical Supervision can be provided for both Psychoanalytically trained Therapists as well as Therapists trained in other modalities. It can be difficult to take the first steps towards starting therapy. You may be unsure what to expect, wonder whether you will feel safe or be uncertain about what will be expected of you in sessions. I am always happy to answer any questions you have to allow you to feel comfortable and to give you a sense of what therapy may be like and what to expect. I welcome this opportunity because I want you to feel comfortable so you will take the steps needed to experience therapy. An initial assessment appointment, which takes place at the beginning of a period of therapy, is also an opportunity for you to find out more about what therapy will be like and to ask any questions you may have. I have experience in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with : Feeling Overwhelmed Anxiety Stress Panic Attacks Sadness Feeling out of control Feeling Loneliness Depression Addiction Trauma Abuse Interpersonal and relationship difficulties Menopause Mid Life Crisis Eating Disorders Identity issues Bereavement and Loss Low self esteem Redundancy Work place issues Anger issues Repetitive or chronic physical health problems as well as other problems and difficulties. I am always willing to discuss the therapy I offer so you are able to make an informed decision whether working with me feels comfortable and appropriate for you. I attend supervision and Professional Development training on a regular basis, throughout the year, as I believe expanding my knowledge and keeping up to date with current developments in Psychotherapy and mental and emotional health issues is important.
