About me
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a qualified counsellor offering a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can explore whatever may be troubling you, at your own pace. My approach is primarily person centred and psychodynamic, meaning I place great importance on creating a trusting therapeutic relationship, while also helping you to gently explore how past experiences and patterns may be influencing your present. I believe that with the right support, everyone has the capacity to gain insight, heal and move towards a more fulfilling life. I have particular experience in working with anxiety, depression and trauma, offering trauma-informed therapy that recognises the lasting impact of difficult experiences while supporting you in reclaiming a sense of safety and self-compassion. I am also passionate about supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges related to neurodiversity, as well as those in caring roles, recognising the unique emotional demands and complexities these experiences can bring. Whatever brings you to counselling, my role is to walk alongside you, offering empathy, understanding and a non - judgemental space in which to be truly heard. Feel free to reach out - make contact and we can work out together if I am the right fit for you. Testimonial: - " With Mia's support, I realised that it was OK to feel the way I did about my Mum's dementia and how that impacted on our relationship and my life and our family dynamics overall. With her help I was also able to work on the increasing guilt I felt at needing and wanting time for myself away from the increasing caring responsibilities for my mum and support for my father, who was struggling also. When counselling ended, I felt more like the old me, confident in my decisions and able to work on my career, which had been on hold since my mums diagnosis".
