The fire in Grenfell Tower has, at the last count, left 79 people dead, but there are literally hundreds of survivors. While the government and local council has come in for criticism for falling short in their response to the disaster, everyone has been touched to see how generous and empathetic local citizens have been in offering to help. We are proud to announce that the following London-based therapists on our site have offered free therapy sessions to those who have been affected.

As Duncan Bew, clinical director of the major trauma centre at King’s College hospital told The Guardian, “It may take weeks and months for some patients to recover physically. In terms of psychological impact, it may take longer.”

Therapist Sue Cowan-Jenssen wrote on this site “People will be suffering the traumatic shock of their experiences, anything that can help them feel supported, understood and soothed can lessen the impact of subsequent post-traumatic stress reactions. Feeling uncared for and unsupported adds to the risk of Post Traumatic Stress Reaction (PTSD).”

Survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire who want to make contact with these therapists should use the word Grenfell in their message with any of these therapists.
