About me
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or even unbearable, leaving us anxious, low, or stuck. Maybe you’ve been coping so far, but now things feel overwhelming. Each person who enters therapy has a unique story, with their own strengths and challenges. The starting point is to come as we are. Therapy offers a space to explore where you are now and where you want to go from here, whether you are dealing with a specific issue or would like to explore your existence in a broader sense. Approach I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself freely. Therapy with me is client-led—you set the agenda, pace and topics of discussion. I work from the belief that you are the expert in your life, and my role is to support you with kindness in growing confidence and insight. My integrative approach draws from different therapeutic models, adapting to each client’s unique needs. I have extensive experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Work with individuals I offer short-term (up to 12 sessions) and open-ended therapy. I can support you with various challenges, such as: • Stress, anxiety, and overwhelm • Depression and low mood • Loneliness and isolation • Anger issues • Loss and bereavement • Relationship difficulties (personal, work, or with yourself) • Challenges adjusting to a new country or returning home • Exploration of cultural heritage • Childhood or adult abuse and trauma • Family challenges • Separation and divorce • Social anxiety and feelings of inadequacy • Work stress and burnout • Low confidence or self-esteem • Life transitions, such as becoming a parent • Existential concerns and personal development • Psychedelic preparation and integration Work with couples I work from an attachment-based perspective, looking at patterns of communication, anxiety, conflict and disharmony within relationships. Psychedelic preparation & integration I offer psychedelic preparation and/or integration and co-facilitate monthly integration circles: https://www.integrationcircle.online/ Special interest groups I'm especially interested in intercultural therapy and help co-facilitate a safe space for members of the BIPOC community. Personal Development Coaching I also provide personal development coaching for individuals who are in a good place emotionally but feel unsatisfied with certain aspects of their lives. Working with the expat community Having grown up as a mixed-heritage individual in France and Germany and having moved in my late 20s to the UK, I am particularly interested in the mixed-heritage identity and the experience of expats. Having moved countries and lived abroad for almost half of my life, I have experienced the emotional stress of finding my way to a new culture. Making plans to live abroad or moving back after a long period can be exciting at the outset. However, it can often turn out to be a challenging experience. When you become an expatriate you arrive into a new culture; there is often a new job with a new set of colleagues to get to know, or maybe you followed a family member and are left to find your way and a new social and professional life to nurture. Some feelings of nervousness and fear are normal, and these feelings may be temporary and easy to handle. For some people though deeper feelings of fear, loneliness and isolation from family, friends and colleagues can set in and these feelings can become difficult to handle. If you’re curious to find out more, just drop me an email and we can arrange a free introductory call. web: https://therapywithviviane.com/ Experience & Career My personal experiences of migration, motherhood, and family history have made me open and empathic to ways of seeing and perceiving the world. I have worked with individuals across various settings, including schools, universities, community organisations, and the private sector, allowing me to develop a holistic understanding of human distress. Currently, I work in private practice in central London and for a refugee organisation in East London. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in career coaching, particularly with expats and migrants, and in HR. Growing up in a multi-racial and multi-cultural family, and my background in languages and international development have deepened my curiosity about the intersection of heritage and mental health. This informs my practice in intercultural therapy and commitment to therapy for social change.
