About me

I'm Tom, a white British northerner based in London. The many identities we hold influence how we experience the world around us, and with this in mind I offer culturally sensitive therapy through an intersectional lens to help frame your unique experience and explore the concerns you wish to make sense of and transform. As a therapist, my primary responsibility is to create a safe space, both physically and psychologically, for you to express who you are, without judgement. To explore the many certainties, frictions and complexities you hold, and how these make you, and your reasons for coming to therapy, deeply personal. I work with wide range of psychological and emotional issues, be that stress, anxiety, relationship issues, intimacy, shame, self-esteem issues, anger, issues of power & oppression, trauma, and others. In my work, I draw on various modalities, however, I hold Relational Transactional Analysis as my core model. I integrate ideas from relational neuroscience, Jungian analysis and embodied approaches to life and therapy. Although my approach is rooted in Western psychology, I recognise the value in wisdom from other cultures and traditions. As well as my private practice, I have experience working with mental health & severe mental health in primary care setting in the NHS, Talking Therapies, Alcohol/Drug Misuse services and community-based mental health charities. Before working in this field, I have worked in the music industry in many roles including as a touring musician and Radio Plugger - giving me experience of the creative industry and freelance/self-employed lifestyles. Mens Work: helping men identify the messaging and beliefs about themselves, break cycles of silent suffering, emotional isolation, and the legacy of relational trauma and patriarchy. I work to guide towards authentic connection, self-compassion, and healthier relationships. Together, we explore vulnerability, reconnection, and strength—not just as a individual but within a wider relational context. I offer short and long term Counselling & Psychotherapy both online and face to face in Leyton E10 (close to central line). My practice is wheelchair accessible, LGBTQ+ aware and inclusive and I fully accept your sexual, gender or relationship identity. I offer a free approx. 15-minute phone assessment so that we can discuss your reasons for seeking therapy
